We are a supernatural generation of world changers who passionately serve Jesus and advance His kingdom. We believe that there is no Junior Holy Spirit.
– LC Kids Vision Statement
Kids ministry is so much more than crafts, songs, and Sunday lessons. It’s a front-line mission field where young hearts are being shaped, faith is being ignited, and the next generation of Kingdom builders is being equipped. To lead effectively in this incredible calling, we need a big vision. The kind of vision that reflects the greatness of our God and the limitless potential of the kids we’re leading.
If we truly believe there is no junior Holy Spirit, then we must lead boldly, dream big, and inspire our teams to see kids as more than just the church of tomorrow. THEY ARE THE CHURCH TODAY.
Catch God’s Vision for Your Ministry
Big vision starts with big faith. Ask yourself, “What does God see when He looks at your ministry?” He sees kids worshiping with abandon, speaking truth to their friends, praying with power, and stepping into their God-given callings. He sees your team leading with passion and unity. He sees families transformed because their children caught fire for Jesus.
Take time to pray and seek God for His vision for your ministry. Don’t settle for maintaining the status quo. Ask Him to stir your heart with a dream so big that only He can bring it to pass. When your vision aligns with God’s heart, it will inspire and energize everyone around you.
Believe in the Potential of Every Child
To lead with a big vision, you must first believe in the potential of the kids you serve. They are not too young to hear God’s voice. They are not too young to be filled with the Holy Spirit. They are not too young to make a difference in their schools, communities, and even the world.
When you preach, teach, and lead, don’t just give kids a nice message. They need to know the power of the gospel and the greatness of the God they serve. Help them see themselves as part of God’s story. When kids understand that the same Holy Spirit who empowered the apostles is living in them, their faith and boldness will grow.
Inspire Your Team to Dream Bigger
A big vision isn’t something you carry alone. It’s something you share with your team. Cast vision consistently. Remind them why they’re serving. Show them the eternal impact of what they do. Tell stories of kids who’ve encountered God, families who’ve been changed, and seeds that have been planted in young hearts.
Challenge your team to dream big alongside you. What would it look like for your ministry to raise up kids who lead worship, preach, or start prayer groups in their schools? What would it take to disciple kids so deeply that they know how to stand firm in their faith no matter what? Dream big together, and watch how your team rises to the challenge.
Don’t Let Obstacles Shrink Your Vision
Big vision comes with big challenges. There will be moments when resources are tight, volunteers are scarce, or discouragement tries to creep in. But don’t let obstacles shrink your vision. Remember, it’s not your vision. It’s God’s. And what He calls you to, He equips you for.
Trust Him to provide the people, the resources, and the strength you need. When things get tough, go back to the vision He gave you. Write it down, pray over it, and remind yourself of His faithfulness.
Lead by Example
If you want your ministry to reflect a big vision, you need to model it. Kids and leaders alike are watching you. Lead with faith, boldness, and passion. Let them see your commitment to prayer, your hunger for God’s Word, and your love for His people.
When you lead with authenticity and conviction, it inspires others to follow. A leader who believes in a big God and lives with a big vision is contagious and that kind of leadership changes lives.
Point Everything Back to Jesus
Ultimately, a big vision isn’t about growing numbers or running impressive programs. It’s about pointing kids and families to Jesus. It’s about helping them know Him, love Him, and follow Him.
Keep the focus on Him in everything you do. Whether it’s a Sunday morning lesson, a midweek event, or a family outreach, make sure Jesus is at the center. He’s the one who transforms lives, and He’s the reason we serve.
Leading with a big vision isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. When you believe in the power of Holy Spirit to work in and through kids, when you inspire your team to dream God-sized dreams, and when you stay rooted in the mission of making disciples, you’re not just running a ministry. You’re building the Kingdom.
So dream big, pray bold prayers, and lead with the confidence that God can do more than you could ask or imagine. The kids in your ministry are ready for a big God. Are you ready to lead them there?
